I submitted this to my photo group, Shutter Sluts this week. ShutterSlutsOrg:
I shot this on my Fuji x100, it was near pitch black in the woods. I was in Herefordshire, staying in a Yurt.
To get the lettering like this I built an iPad app using XCode on the mac, I made 4 images, one for each letter S, L, U and T. Then I got the iPad to display them in short succession with a black screen in-between.
I shot on BULB mode so I could leave the camera picking up light for as long as I want, this was probably open for about 10 seconds to capture this while I stood behind the tree moving the iPad.
I hope you enjoy the final result which was mildly tweaked in Photoshop using the LEGENDARY Exposure 3 plugin.
Josh showed me the game Journey a while ago and I absolutely loved it, to the point where everything I had drawn for the next few days was almost exactly like the game. I was just looking through some files searching for some buildings and I came across some of that stuff, so I thought I’d finally merge what I created with Journey.
This is the final version.
A doodle by the side of some real work. That’s all I can post at the moment!
My grandfather has always been an inspiration to me, encouraging me to take my photography to the next level and he gave me 4 filters for my new camera, the Fuji X100, a clear center point filter, a green center filter, a starry filter and a skylight filter.
Here I used the analogue green center filter to create a vignette, then I used Photoshop and the Exposure 3 digital filter set to give the raw image the look of an old slide film.
